<image:caption>Our congregation is a diverse mosaic of God’s rich creation. We seek to be a church who continues to welcome all people regardless of their sexual orientation, race, gender, economic status, social status, or political affiliation. We believe God opens doors to all people!</image:caption>

      <image:title>Home - Called to Serve</image:title>
<image:caption>We see opportunities to serve with the people of Hoboken as a way to show God’s presence within the world. We have strong partnerships with “In Jesus Name Ministries”, “The Hoboken Shelter”, and the “Hudson School”, because we believe that organizations that partner with one another can do more than going at it alone. We also have a garden for the community that blooms throughout the year and offers fresh veggies and compost.</image:caption>

<image:title>Worship - We open our doors to all people, that means you.</image:title>
<image:caption>We gather on Sunday mornings at 10:30am in Hoboken and invite you to come as you are. Whether you’re “dressed to the nines” in your Sunday finest, or just rolling out of bed to make it before the first song, you are welcomed in God’s space. The first Sunday of each month we celebrate Holy Communion, an open table, which does not ask you to be a member of this church or any church to take part in this holy and mysterious meal. We only ask that you come with an open heart and recognize God’s ability to reconcile everyone into a larger, beloved community.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Worship - Baptisms</image:title>
<image:caption>Baptism is a fundamental step in receiving and experiencing grace. Through the Holy Spirit and the blessed water, we are initiated into the family of God, the Church Universal. It is within this family that we are challenged to grow in our faith and understand God’s Grace on a deeper level. We believe Baptism is the doorway to a higher understanding of God’s love through community, social engagement, and prayerful discernment. If you are interested in baptism we would love the opportunity to speak with you..</image:caption>

      <image:title>Worship - Weddings</image:title>
<image:caption>The Christian wedding ceremony at the churches of Path Parish includes two primary commitments. One commitment is the personal covenant the couple makes with one another: “To take from this day onward, to join with and to share all that is to come, to give and to receive, to speak and to listen, to inspire and to respond, and in all our life together, to be loyal to you with my whole being, as long as we both shall live.” The other commitment is the covenant that the couple makes with the church: to understand their life together in relation to the faith community. This second commitment is implicit throughout the marriage ceremony in the language, the symbols, the blessings, the location (in the house of worship), the officiant (the minister) and the expressed intention of those who would be married under the authority of the church. As the The United Methodist Book of Discipline states: "We affirm the sanctity of the marriage covenant which is expressed in love, mutual support, personal commitment, and shared fidelity between [two persons]. We believe that God's blessing rests upon such a marriage.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Who We Are - A Church Connected by Generations of Faithful Believers</image:title>
<image:caption>We Are: A church representing two denominations: United Methodist: Grounded in scripture, called to serve the world (umc.org) Reformed Church: Interpreters of scripture, confessional in our beliefs (rca.org) Open Door: We believe that all people are of sacred worth, all people have the freedom to worship, and all people are loved by God. We open our doors to all people regardless of race, gender, economic status, social status, or sexual orientation. No exceptions or restrictions. Community Church was founded in 1856 as the German Evangelical Church of Hoboken, and renamed in 1967 as the Community Church of Hoboken, our church has a deep roots in our community. From our humble beginnings, welcoming German immigrants to our current congregation reflecting the diversity God desired in creation, we continue to serve our city and welcome everyone as a part of the “Community.” While the city of Hoboken has changed dramatically since our founding, our commitment to seeking God’s justice, hope, peace, and reconciliation in the city will never change.</image:caption>
