MINISTER. Dianne Gordon-McGrath

Minister Dianne Gordon-McGrath has experienced both triumphs and tribulations in her life. From successful careers as a journalist, teacher, and union leader on both the east and west coasts, she has garnered a wealth of accomplishments. However, alongside these achievements, she has also faced the profound pain of infidelity, divorce, and the heart-wrenching loss of her second husband to lung disease. Additionally, the passing of both her parents after prolonged illnesses and the estrangement from her only child have left enduring marks on her journey.

Throughout her trials, her unwavering faith in God has been her anchor. Daily devotions have granted her the strength to face each day with divine guidance, and she attributes her resilience to God's constant presence in her life. Amidst her greatest miseries, she has felt God's comforting embrace, carrying her through the darkest moments.

Feeling a divine prodding to deepen her involvement in her religious life, she embraced various church ministries. Starting with the Usher board, she found joy in service and later joined the church's prayer circle, offering uplifting prayers and support for those in need. However, it was through the Prison Ministry that she felt a profound calling to serve others. Visiting incarcerated women regularly, she listened to their stories, prayed with them, and shared Bible lessons. This experience sparked a desire within her to learn more and serve better, leading her to pursue coursework as a Basic Lay Servant and Certified Lay Servant. Now, as a certified lay servant, she finds immense joy in ministering at the Community Church of Hoboken, sharing God's love and grace with all those she encounters.
